SZA, “Ctrl”

The much awaited full-length album from SZA is here and it is loud. A powerful play of femininity, self-certainty, and confessions, she takes us on a trip through her views on relationships and aspirations, staying true to the album’s title as she explores the balance between control and vulnerability. It is raw and deeply emotional, but the production and sensuality make it easy to groove to it rather than get lost in your feels. (But beware, you might still get lost in your feels.)

Nick Hakim, “Green Twins”

Babies, mothers, lovers… It’s all on here. A dreamy stream of consciousness album that stitches together time as Nick Hakim moves through memories and missed connections. Ideal listen for an introverted night in with a canvas and some acrylic.
