Swerve seems like a band I’d like to hang out with.

In the course of Dumb Romeo’s six tracks, little hints of cheeky humor peer through the somewhat bleak subject matter of the songs, something clearly deliberate. The band has been quoted saying, “the music on Dumb Romeo is sincere while playful; although the lyrics touch on some dark or sad themes, there’s always a wink accompanied with it because that’s who we are.”

What started as a solo project from LA-native Greg Mahdesian, Swerve is now a force in fast radio rock. Each track is it’s own animal. Hidden gems arise from each song, whether its the soft “oooh la la lala” on “Lose Control”, or the living guitar line on “Sidekick”. There’s something in every song to pick out and fall in love with.

Dumb Romeo is out everywhere tomorrow! Celebrate with Swerve at the Bootleg Theater tomorrow night for their EP release party. Until then, get a sneak peak below.
