Photos by Anna Selle, words by Nick Howland

If you’ve never seen Bleachers live, you might not be prepared for the power of their performance. Jack Antonoff, who also plays with fun. (but Bleachers is not a side project), leads his band through their energetic music with Bruce Springsteen flair, marching around the stage and pumping his fists to get the audience somewhere close to the level of excitement he’s at. He loves what he does and the audience loves that he loves what he does. It’s a challenge not to jump around and mirror Antonoff’s contagious hype. By the time the show is over, the audience is drenched in just as much sweat as the band–and everyone is ok with that. This all was magnified with powerhouse pop band, with a dark side, MUNA opening the show and getting the crowd excited for a phenomenal summer concert.

Check out Anna’s gorgeous photo gallery from the show at the KC Live stage in Kansas City’s Power and Light District below to get a feel for what I’m talking about. Then grab some friends and go see Bleachers live after you do ’cause its a hell of a show and you do not want to miss out. You can find the remaining tour dates below the gallery.
