“Let the record play, let the record play.” Moon Taxi did just that at their show at The Truman on Saturday night. With choruses that could be arena indie rock songs, Moon Taxi played a 19 song set list that each person in attendance knew every word to.

The five piece band, from Nashville, TN, recently signed to major label RCA. Their live show is proof why the band got picked up. Moon Taxi sounds exactly like their records, if not better.

Frontman Trevor Terndrup was all smiles on stage. His ability to control the crowd and interact with his band mates made the show seem intimate. Terndrup’s ethereal voice carried across The Truman like a breeze on water.

The band was surrounded by hanging lights that lined the outside of the stage. Each of the members had their own spotlight – and for a good cause. From what the remaining band lacked in charisma, they made up for it with raw musical talent. Halfway through Moon Taxi’s set, each member had their on spotlight moment to captivate the crowd with their instrument.

Moon Taxi plays in the Dominican Republic on March 2nd, then resumes touring on March 23rd at The Madison Theater in Covington, KY.
