What do Taylor Swift and Ryan Adams have in common? An entire album worth of songs, apparently. Earlier today, Ryan Adams dropped the cover album he mentioned he was going to record earlier this year: a song-for-song cover of Taylor Swift’s album 1989. Of the cover album, Taylor called it “surreal and dreamlike.” We tend to agree.

Ryan Adams isn’t a stranger to tinkering with different genre-types; his earlier music was much more pop and slightly punk infused, where as his newer albums have drifted into a more alt-country, folkish vibe. This later musical atmosphere actually pairs perfectly with Taylor Swift’s mainstream pop music. The album is available via iTunes as well as to stream via Spotify. Check out a Spotify stream of the album below and indulge yourself. Overall it’s just a damn fun album and worth a listen. It’s ok, you don’t have to put your Spotify on private to listen to the cover album.
