Those awaiting the follow-up to Real Friends’ 2014 album Maybe This Place Is The Same And We’re Just Changing or those just getting antsy for Knuckle Puck to throw out some new tunes after this year’s Copacetic should take a deep breath, especially if you like both Illinois based bands: Dan Lambton (vocalist for Real Friends), Joe Taylor (guitars and vocalist for Knuckle Puck) and Ryan Rumchaks (bass for Knuckle Puck, drums for this new project) have joined forces to make music under the name rationale. The band has a new 4 track EP entitled “Confines” coming out December 9. Nick Casasanto also engineered the recording of drums & bass on the upcoming EP while Ace Enders (The Early November) mixed the EP and John Naclerio (Brand New, My Chemical Romance) spit-polished the album at Nada Studios.

We started rationale. because we love hanging out and making music with our friends. This is what has come of that so far.

You can stream the first track off the EP, titled “Hangnail,” below from the band’s Bandcamp page.
