Politically opinionated ex-frontman of the Smiths, Morrissey, has announced his first novel, which will be published by Penguin Books. The book, titled List of the Lost, will join Morrissey’s only other dabble with printed word (besides his album liner notes), his Autobiography, which sold around 20,000 copies on it’s first day on stands.

There’s no details just yet on what the novel will be about but it’s due to hit shelves this September in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand,India, Australia, and South Africa. There is no word yet on if the book will be picked up within the United States.

With Morrissey quickly loosing faith in the music industry and not touring as often (with many cancelations when he does usually due to health issues), this book will be the first many have seen of Morrissey in quite a while. It will be a rather welcome return.
