Kansas City-based indie/surf rock heroes Momma’s Boy – proudly comprised of Peter Beatty (guitar/vocals), Shaun Crowley (guitar/vocals), Quinn Hernandez (drums), and Jared Bajkowski (bass/vocals) – releases their Dead Summer Single No. 3 today, a light, slow jam titled “Want Me Back”. Utilizing perhaps the sexiest of vocal registers, the song is swoon-worthy, as Momma’s Boy implores you to “meet me down in the crossroads,” a line which will trigger any proud KC native. The song itself feels light and hopeful, despite its references to past issues. It’s got that perfect blend of nostalgia in the instrumentals that could take you back to a time when variety shows ruled the airwaves.

And that guitar riff at the end? Be still, my heart.

Momma’s Boy will take the stage at Riot Room tonight (Friday, January 19th) in celebration of the release. Tickets are available now!
