Sometimes you hear music that you swear you’ve heard before, but then eventually realize you’ve been mistaken. Music you feel like you’ve carried around with you for a while, music that you’ve lived in. That you’re pretty sure you lent your Levis jacket to but were ok with the fact you probably weren’t  going to see it return. Book Club makes music that soundtracks your segmented life and helps you feel comfortable with the craziness around you.

Dubbed “Rural Pop,” Book Club creates tunes that take their time to reach in and prod you in the heart. The band is made up of Robbie Horlick, Lauren Love, Matt Jarrard, Todd Kerstetter, Danny Moore, and Gus Fernandez and hails from the great state of Georgia. They are full of Southern hospitality but don’t get lost in the sometimes expected southern folk tendencies. Robbie’s voice provides a reliable and smooth narrator for the band’s lyrics, often times hiding the the core of the song under layers of peacefully drifting snow—which is gently blown away after multiple and intent listens.

Check out some of our favorite tracks by the band below and be sure to read Robbie’s Liner Note, which we premiered last week. And if you like what you hear, check out the band’s newest album One-Way Moon (which is available on gorgeous clear and black splatter vinyl) and catch them on the road.
