Connor Leimer had a much more productive senior year of high school than pretty much any of us. While still in school, he wrote and pieced together what would be his debut album, Postcard, in addition to recording an acoustic album on his phone entitled The Telephone Takes. All while most of us were stressing out over important-at-the-time exams or (maybe?) getting our party years out of our systems.

While he is a singer-songwriter, Connor is quite inviting with his musical process. He attended the Grammy Project workshop in the summer of 2013 where he met quite a few talented friends. He then invited said friends to collaborate in the studio when recording Postcard. These musicians included Gracie Schram (who appears on the track “Keep Knocking”) as well as She’s a Keeper member Fritz Hutchison on banjo. The varied group of friends and his versatile music taste helps contribute to the immense variation of sound Connor brings to the table with his music.

His music is a collection of inspiration, respect, and varied genres, including rock, reggae, soul, jazz, pop, folk, country, and various others. There’s very much the Midwestern folk-flavor in certain songs and pop-fused reggae in others. His music flows with ease and up-beat listening and provides a unique but cohesive collection of tracks.

There’s a lot more coming from Connor in the future. He is currently in the studio recording his next album with Matt Rollings (Lyle Lovett, Mark Knopfler) and will be performing at Middle of the Map fest in Kansas City, Missouri next month. Read Connor’s Liner Note and learn a bit more about his personal history and take a listen to some of our favorite tracks of his below.
