In an increasingly loud and excessively excess world, it’s sometimes hard to take the time to experience something, admire it, and really appreciate the details. Everything is a wash when your senses are being overstimulated. That’s why This Patch Of Sky’s music is so necessary. The six-piece band creates cinematic, quasi orchestral post-rock that forces you to sit down, shut up, and sift through the layers of gorgeous instrumentation as it washes over you. Without voice and language the music becomes universal and is based more on feelings and emotion more than anything else. Take a listen to their new tracks “Bella Muerte” and “Pale Lights” for prime examples.

This Patch Of Sky will release their fourth full-length These Small Spaces September 22 on Equal Vision Records. There are some really badass pre-orders up on the band’s website as well, which include limited edition vinyl, shirts, and more. Until then, check out the band’s 25 favorites instrumental tracks to hold you over.
