During high school summers, I had my first full-time gig in the music industry working for a business management company. They dealt with the biggest pop groups at the time, which were mostly the Camp Rock era Disney acts. The work wasn’t glorious — I spent a lot of time taping receipts to file-able paper and inputting the details into spreadsheets. But on the bright side, one of the perks was that my boss would set me up with a backstage pass to Madison Square Garden and other venues when the groups were in town.
The story for today took place at a Nick Jonas & the Administration concert at the Beacon Theater. The fandom was so intense in the building that I, as one of the only non-dad men with some curls in his hair, was without question taken by the masses as a relative of the Brothers. A photo of me and an audience member showed up on a blog with the caption “Lucky Fan Meets Jonas Cousin”. A classmate found it, and I never heard the end of that in high school.
